Dear community,

As we reach the final days of 2025, I find myself sitting with a mix of emotions. It has been, honestly, an unexpected year—full of quiet victories, frantic building, and moments of profound grace.

For me, Christmas is always a tough time of year. My father passed away on Christmas, suddenly, of cardiac arrest in front of my mom and myself. It is a memory that returns every December. But in reflecting on the path that brought us here, from stealth mode to the steps of the Vatican, I’ve realized something important:

Sometimes the lessons come disguised as pain, because strength can’t be taught gently and what you survive is often a rehearsal for what you’re meant to lead as some chapters exist only to prepare you to write the next one.

I am incredibly grateful for everyone who has walked this path with us. Because of your belief, I know that 2026 is going to be some of the best moments of our lives. Looking forward to meeting you all soon.

Hello!

You’re reading The Chronicle — a newsletter at the intersection of the Catholic Faith and Technology.

You're receiving this because you've joined us over the past 4 years. Thank you.

—The Crescite Innovation Team

As we celebrate Christmas with our family and friends, it is a good time to reflect on the blessings of 2025, and our goals for the future. We remember Pope Francis and look ahead to Pope Leo XIV, who was born and educated in the US, studying Mathematics and graduating with a Bachelor of Science from Villanova University.

During 2025, we further strengthened the foundation established over the past four years by Crescite for the Catholic Token™, Catholic USD™, and all of the projects that are stemming from them.  For example, we continue to make progress with our core projects, including Hekima University in Molo, Kenya, and the Acutis Game™. We started to release animated content designed for Catholic education and evangelization, as we celebrated the canonization of Carlo Acutis in September. The highlights of 2025 included a visit to Assisi, Italy, where Carlo is laid to rest, as well as the holy sites of Saint Francis of Assisi and St. Clare of Assisi. We saw firsthand how many centuries of Catholic saints come together through their lives and teachings, providing lessons for generations that we plan to illustrate in our content.

From a regulatory perspective, our efforts are benefitting from the federal framework established in the US in 2025. The GENIUS Act (Guidance for Effective Network Innovation and U.S. Stablecoin) created a framework for stablecoins, requiring 1:1 asset backing (cash / Treasuries), reserve disclosures, and investor protections. The CLARITY Act (Digital Asset Market Structure Clarity Act) provides a broader framework for digital assets, defining roles for the SEC and CFTC, establishing categories for assets, and setting rules for exchanges and intermediaries.

We are very excited to soon announce our official collaboration with BitGo!

We see ourselves at the intersection of faith and technology, with religious missions, regulatory frameworks, and business relationships in place—including with BitGo—that have us poised for great things ahead!

We wish you a Merry Christmas and a blessed 2026, and hope you will be able to join us for some of the incredible events we have planned for the months ahead!

After four years behind-the-scenes, we are pleased to finally bridge the digital and physical realms in 2026. Next year, we anticipate sharing our enthusiasm for the Crescite Innovation project as a community—in person. Stay tuned for our announcements of upcoming in-person events hosted from around the world!

Additionally, we are hard at work compiling a full PDF of our 2025. Please look out for our official 2025 recap coming in early January.

Thank you for surviving the rehearsals with us. Now, let us write the next chapter together.

Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year,

Eddie Cullen & Karl Kilb
